Christmas Home Tour

First I want to apologize for not posting in a month, but December is a crazy month for us. I will post more December pictures later today.

I have seen several blogs that have posted pictures of their homes decorated for Christmas and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon.

This is our beautiful tree. This was my mom's tree, but we switched trees when I moved into a house from an apartment and she moved from a house to an apartment. I love the simple decorations and it is quick to decorate.

These are my favorite ornaments. They are my two boys handprints that they made at preschool last year. I love them so much that I keep them out all year.

Here is our mantle and stockings. My aunt made our stockings and I love how they look on our fireplace mantle.

An last but not least. This is my nativity. The pieces to this I have been given over the last few years and I am still missing a few pieces but it is a reminder to me and my family what the true meaning of Christmas. Each year my boys and I talk about the important part of Christmas and each year they remember that it is Jesus' birthday. I hope as you look at my simple reminder that you too will remember the important part of Christmas. Merry Christmas from the Bakers!!

Smores and the Baker boys

Last January N, G, and I spent a weekend at my sister's house and she let the boys make smores in her fireplace. Needless to say they loved it. So now that it is cold enough for a fire, this has been the dessert of choice for the last several nights. N really loves to eat the smores and G just likes roasting the marshmallows. It has been a really fun thing for us to do at the end of busy days.

7 x 7

I want to start by saying I will not normally post twice in one day, but I want to point out the 7x7 button on the right side of my blog. This is something that I found on one of my favorite blogs Bring the Rain written by Angie Smith. This is a reminder to me to pray for my kids 7 times a day 7 days a week. If you click on the picture it will link to her blog. Her post explains when she prays and what she prays for her daughters. Just a good reminder for me and I wanted to share with any of you who might be parents.

October Pictures

October has been busy at the Baker house. N and Mike were asked to be in a wedding for Robbie and Roxanne Crafton. N was so excited about his tux and I can see why. I think he looks great in a tux as does my husband. N kept looking in the mirror saying " I look good." Too funny. It was a busy weekend filled with rehearsal and then the wedding on that Saturday but we had a great time and the wedding was beautiful.
Last weekend was Trunk or Treat at our church. I love that our church offers this alternative to Halloween. I am not against Halloween but I have issues with taking my kids door to door to strangers homes. The first year we took N trick or treating, we drove all over town to just people we knew. He loved it, but it is not practical now that we live in a larger city. Anyway--here are a few pictures of my two "superheros" N was Batman and G was Mr. Incredible. Mr. Incredible was a last minute decision for G. He had several hand me down costumes to choose from and Mr. Incredible won.
I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving. November starts a really busy time with our family and our church. I am sure this the case for most families but I hope we are able to enjoy the Holiday season that is coming. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Monday morning dress-up

Just a few pics of what we are doing on this beautiful Monday morning! I have already been to the attic three time to find all the pieces of this puppy costume. Hopefully I will keep my feet on the ground the rest of the day.

A busy fall day!

It is a beautiful fall day in Tennessee, and as usual the busyness of the week has invaded our weekend. I love a lazy weekend especially since my week is filled with work, countless hours in the car driving my boys and all the other chores that must be completed to keep our house running. Today I was hoping for that lazy day --but not such luck! We started with a trip to town for a trunk or treat costume for N and then over to Home Depot for a new plant for our flower beds. We then headed home for a quick lunch and hopefully a nap for me.

We moved into house a year and half ago and just are now finding the time to redo the flower beds. We spent last Monday moving plants, digging up dirt, replanting bushes, and mulching. Of course we ran out of time to get everything finished, so today is the day to get it done. Mike and the boys are finishing up and I will post some pics later on . I forgot to take before pics but believe me they look so much better.

I hope you all enjoy you own busy fall day where ever you are today!

I am jumping in!

I am jumping in. My family tells me all the time that I should write down all the funny things my kids say and do. So this is the best way I can do that and keep track of it. This is not only a blog but a journal for my family and my boys. I am also addicted to reading other blogs so I might as well have on of my own. I hope you enjoy reading the day to day antics of my children and our family.
